MY FIRST BAD... :(

So I was thinking (round the clock like usual) about what new topics I could approach this week. However, it is somewhat political...Nooo it's not about Her... It is about Graffiti. Not too political on my scale, but I just have to say-IT IS SO BAD! Honestly, the worst I've ever seen or perhaps paid attention to, in my lifetime here in San Pedro.

On a side note, it's not just in America or San Pedro for that matter...10 years ago, I went to Finland and Helsinki looked liked NY or LA. So it does cross cultures and continents. But my focus is on San Pedro...HERE IS MY GREAT IDEA: What if the community implemented the planting of several "creeping fig" walls around the city-Start with downtown. It would green-up the city and possibly decrease the graffiti. Especially those walls frequently "tagged" by these delinquents. Maybe it's a dumb idea...maybe it's NOT so dumb. Just one of those WHAT IF's we never seem to get out of our heads...Tell me what you think or give your ideas on how to beat the tagging situation plaguing our town and neighbor cities.

I don't think re-painting is working so great...We need a plan to STOP the problem.

Inasmuch as the Coastal Neighborhood Council helped us WIN the "No Condo's" issue at old McCowans site, perhaps we should attend the next meeting and raise the Graffiti issue with them in order to place it on the agenda for City approval to plant such vines. I think it's a great idea. If we want any action taken in this town, we need to be heard...and as we all know, that's where we need to start. Go Green!

I think that's a fantastic idea!!! The delinquents apparently think their graffiti is beautifying San Pedro or that is their way to make a statement. What's more beautiful than green?? We could also leave one single particular area that they are given permission to graffiti (but then I guess being illegal is probably the thrill). Either way something definately has to be done.
